from recollections in black and white this reminds me of how i absolutely adore simpler art with shape and form (i.e. gomoku akatsuki, edayan, etc.) in comparison to detailed, but flat art (shojo manga in particular, yoshitaka amano’s work as well.) being able to envision and effectively convey form in a few lines and colors [ READ MORE ]

went to the high’s da vinci exhibit over the weekend. it’s very cool to see his stuff in person! though, his sketches are damn near microscopic, so everyone was essentially waiting in line for their turn to shove their nose against the glass… they had some of donatello’s and verrocchio’s works there as well, as [ READ MORE ]
